PUERTORICOWOWThree Artists, One ExpositionApril 22, 2001 For the second time in 23 years, the work of artists Ralph de Romero, Rubén Ríos, and Peter Gaztambide will be presented together. Their exposition, entitled "Tres amigos, tres décadas, tres artistas: Memorias de un trío" ("Three friends, three decades, three artists: Memories of a trio"), will be showcased until May 6 at Sala Oeste del Antiguo Arsenal de la Marina Española, at La Puntilla, Old San Juan. The artists first joined their collections in 1978 at Galería Guatibirí. Today, their art is brought together to commemorate that meeting. Their current exposition will display works they have created since then and, for those who missed the 1978 exhibition, will include work from that occasion. This re-encounter was a joint project of the three artists until Ralph de Romero's death last year. The commitment of the surviving members of the trio hasn't dwindled; Ríos and Gaztambide have continued the effort with Lizza Robles, De Romero's widow. "Tres amigos, tres décadas, tres artistas" was initiated by Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña and will be showcased Wednesday through Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
