Business WireBroadcast Coverage of 54th Caribbean World Series Starts Sunday, February 2January 28, 2003 LOS ANGELES -The Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico will open the 54th Caribbean World Series that will be carried live and exclusively on Fox Sports en Espanol beginning Sunday, February 2, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The second game of the seven-day series follows at 7:00 p.m. ET featuring 2002 Caribbean World Series champion Mexico, and the second of two Puerto Rican teams. Venezuela will be absent from this year's series due to the current social and political situation in that country. According to the governing rules of the Confederation of Caribbean Baseball, the host country is allowed to field two teams for the Caribbean World Series if one of the participating countries is unable to attend. Fox Sports en Espanol will offer a pre-and post-game show analysis that will be hosted by Jose Tolentino and Fernando Gonzalez, who posted similar duty during the network's Major League Baseball post-season coverage. The entire 2003 Caribbean World Series will be played at the Roberto Clemente Stadium in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
