Orlando Sentinel Song Adds San Juan, Las Vegas To Schedule By Todd Pack | Sentinel Staff Writer April 25, 2003 Song, the bargain-priced airline launched this month by Delta, will begin service from Orlando to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on July 1 and to Las Vegas on July 21. Introductory one-way fares start at $119, the airline said Thursday. Song's debut in the Orlando market will be May 10, with service to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. Song won't be the first carrier to fly from Orlando to San Juan and Las Vegas. American, ATA and Spirit airlines already fly between Orlando and San Juan. America West flies between Orlando and Las Vegas. Delta Air Lines launched its Song subsidiary 10 days ago with a single route between New York and West Palm Beach. In June, Delta will begin to restore many of the domestic and international flights it suspended in April and May because of weaker demand related to the U.S.-led war in Iraq. None of those suspensions were in Orlando. The schedule for June will reflect a 7 percent reduction from Delta's original mainline capacity plans, compared with a 12 percent reduction in May.
