Business Wire Wyndham Makes A Splash This Summer With Spongebob Package For Families May 5, 2003 DALLAS - Participating Wyndham Resorts To Offer Splash Party Package Featuring Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants This summer, Wyndham Resorts teams up with the number one kids' show on television, Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants(TM), to offer families the SpongeBob Splash Party Package, available at eight participating Wyndham Resort properties throughout the Caribbean and in Florida. Based on Nickelodeon's beloved sea sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea, the SpongeBob Splash Party Package includes: - A SpongeBob beach ball and beach towel for each child in their guest room upon arrival - An invitation to a special SpongeBob Splash Party for kids, which occurs twice or more per week in the pool area at participating resorts - The opportunity to participate in daily SpongeBob-themed family activities, unique to each property's locale Available May 30 through Labor Day, the package can be booked in advance for one or more nights at select Wyndham Resorts, such as the Wyndham Rose Hall Resort & Country Club in Jamaica or the Wyndham Casa Marina Resort in Key West. In recent focus groups, Wyndham found that vacations are number two on the list of most common items parents and kids choose together. However, despite their involvement in the decision-making process, kids revealed that they do not think hotels are fun, due in large part to the fact that they do not feel entirely welcome once onsite. "By offering the SpongeBob Splash Party Package, Wyndham is demonstrating to kids that we value their input, and want to make their hotel experience exciting. Package Details Rates for the SpongeBob Splash Party Package start at $145, vary by property and are based on the number of kids per guest room. The package includes one SpongeBob beach towel and inflatable beach ball per child. Upon arrival, the family receives an invitation to the Resort's SpongeBob daily activities and Splash Party, which take place at least twice per week, depending on the property. The Splash Party is held in the pool area, decorated to resemble SpongeBob's habitat, "Bikini Bottom," and features treats and activities especially for kids. Parents and kids can participate in a variety of games at the Splash Party, such as pool volleyball, family limbo, jellyfish tossing and SpongeBob's briefs relay. Special activities are also available and vary by property, such as making ice cream sundaes with the resort chef. All activities are supervised by Wyndham's on-staff activity coordinators; however, parental supervision is strongly encouraged at the Splash Party. In addition, restaurants and room service at participating resorts will feature a special SpongeBob Splash Party Kids Menu with fun entrees, such as "Mr. Krab's Kids Krudite" and the "Barnacle Burger." Guests at all participating resorts will receive key cards featuring SpongeBob SquarePants characters.
