Continuing the Herald’s video series honoring the proud history of Puerto Ricans serving in the U.S. armed forces, this program showcases Puerto Rico’s four Medal of Honor winners, one from the Korean conflict and three from Vietnam. Earning the nation’s highest award for valor requires that the "service must have been performed in action as such conspicuous character to clearly distinguish the man for gallantry and intrepidity above his comrades--service that involved extreme jeopardy of life or the performance of extraordinary hazardous duty."

Subsequent videos will feature the famed 65th Infantry division and other aspects of the service of over 200,000 U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico who have worn the uniform of our country and followed its flag into combat when it was required.
