Local firm Kendall Investments Corp. has begun construction of Plaza Real Commercial Center, an $8 million, 102,000-square-foot commercial / office project in Guaynabo.

Located on the corner of PR169 and Parque de los Niños Street, near Guaynabo’s performing-arts center, Plaza Real will be a three-story building of steel and precast concrete with 42,000 square feet of commercial and office space, a 30,000-square-foot parking lot, plus a 10-story, 30,000-square-foot parking tower of reinforced concrete that is automated (robotized). Considered the first of its kind in Puerto Rico, Plaza Real’s parking tower will have the capacity for two vehicles per floor.

Plaza Real will have 11 commercial spaces on the first floor and 11 office spaces on each of the second and third floors. There will be one elevator and two staircases on each side of the building.

The commercial / office project was financed by Banco Popular and designed by Lopez Roman Architects. Radonic Corp. is the general contractor. The project is slated for completion in June 2005.

Tenants that have signed a contract with Plaza Real include Oriental Bank, Taco Maker, Mandy’s BBQ, and Rivoli Restaurant.
