Luis Fortuño, Puerto Rico’s newly elected member of the U.S. House of Representatives, well known for his desire to see Puerto Rico become a state of the United States, believes that the time is now ripe to move forward on that issue. In this third of three video segments taken from and exclusive interview with the Resident Commissioner by the Puerto Rico Herald, Fortuño gives his reasons for that assumption and discusses the mechanisms that should begin to bring it about. A Republican, he also talks about his desire to identify with the growing number of Hispanics who are now filling seats in the U.S. Congress, regardless of their party affiliation. Fortuño also outlines his views about the relationship that should exist between his office and PRFAA, The Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration, the office representing the Puerto Rico Governor on the mainland.
